Thriller without end in Sicily as according to international media reports, the well-known British businessman Mike Lynch is missing since the sinking of the superyacht due to severe weather that hit the area.
According to reports, a total of 22 people were on board the superyacht at the time of the accident, including the 59-year-old founder of Autonomy Corporation, Mike Lynch, and his wife Angela Bacares, who was rescued. In addition to Leeds, a total of five people are missing, including two US citizens and a Canadian citizen, one dead person has been recovered and the rescued amount to 15 people.

The missing businessman co-founded Autonomy, the software company regarded as one of the “stars” of the British tech scene, in the mid-90s.
He was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to entrepreneurship in 2006, and in 2011 was given a seat on then Prime Minister David Cameron’s science and technology council. He was elected a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering in 2008 and of the Royal Society in 2014.
In June this year, he was acquitted of 15 counts of fraud in a US trial related to Hewlett-Packard’s $11.1 billion acquisition of Autonomy in 2011.
The trial began in March in San Francisco after a long battle to have him extradited from England to the US. US justice first moved against him in 2018, with charges of inflating sales, misleading regulators and defrauding Hewlett-Packard.
After his acquittal he told reporters: “I can’t wait to get back to the UK and get back to what I love most: my family and innovation in my field.”
