Italy-Switzerland, bomb alert near the Olympic Stadium

ROMA – Bomb alert near it Olympic stadium in Rome before the Euro2020 match between Mancini’s Italy and Switzerland for the second day of the group stage. The car bomb was in the Prati district, a few kilometers from the stadium. There were many fans passing through to reach the stadium and several roads were blocked to allow operations. Investigators follow a lead on a private affair. At about 5.40 pm, the Police Headquarters was notified of the presence, in via Tito Spiri, of a car with suspicious wires. The adjacent roads were closed to traffic and the bomb squads intervened on the spot who, according to police sources, ascertained that it was actually a rudimentary device.

There was no explosion and investigations are ongoing. Lhe car on which the bomb was found belongs to Marco Andrea Doria, president of the Table for the redevelopment of parks and historic villas in Rome.
