Italy opposes the EU’s idea to stop the sale of new standard cars, ANSA said.

This was announced by the Minister of Transport Matteo Salvini. He held a meeting with partners in the EU.

The idea is for the ban to be introduced from 2035. It has been confirmed that Italy remains firmly against the decision.

The Italian representative called for a common position to be drawn up to protect jobs and citizens.

The rules were approved by the European Parliament.

However, several European countries are not ready to accept them. Alternative options are being sought.

Germany has already announced ideas that have delayed the adoption of the law.
