In the A section, the Italians lost a two-goal lead in the biggest defeat of the program and drew 2:2 with Belgium. The Belgian’s two goals came after the “Azure” finished the game from the 38th minute without the suspended Lorenzo Pellegrini. Israel lost to France 1:4.

The score was changing in Italy after just 60 seconds when the Belgians collapsed in the opponent’s half. The Italians attacked down the left, from where Federico Dimarco found Andrea Cambias with a low cross at the back post and beat Koen Casteels twice.

Coach Luciano Spalletti’s team was in good spirits and in the 24th minute they were ahead with two goals. Excellent work was done again by Dimarco, who moved the game to Cambias free with a direct pass, and Casteels made his shot right in front of Mateo Retegui – 2:0.

At the end of the first half, however, the “Azure” complicated a comfortable situation by sending off Lorenzo Pellegrini, and the Belgians immediately struck from the normal situation after that. Maxim De Cuyper completed the rehearsed mark with a curler to the post, for which it was the first correct strike in the national team.

After an hour of play, the hosts equalized when Leandro Trossard made a breakthrough in a small area. Belgium had a territorial advantage in possession of the ball, but did not reach three points.

The Italians have seven points after three games and are first, the Belgians have collected four and are in third place. In front of them are the French, who won easily over Israel 4:1.
