Roma –
Italy National Team known as a team that plays defensively and relies on counter attacks. Trainer Roberto Mancini believe that has changed.
Italy is very strong in qualifying Euro 2020. The Azzurri won Group B after winning 10 of 10 matches scoring 37 goals and conceding four.
Italy’s record only lost slightly to Belgium. Roberto Martinez’s team won Group I after sweeping the game with 40 goals and conceding three times.
There is hope that Italy can talk a lot at the European Cup under Mancini, having previously failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup at the hands of Giampiero Ventura.
Italy will appear as the European Cup opener against Turkey at the Stadio Olimpico, Saturday (12/6/2021) early morning WIB. Mancini stressed that the team is not a squad that plays with typical Italian catenaccio.
“We have always been recognized as a team that defended and counter-attacked, but things have changed, and we have tried,” Mancini told Sky Sport Italia.
“We have put in a different mentality and if the results arrive, everything is easier. Everything is going well and we believe we can play good football and have a chance to win in the end.”
Italy are in Group A along with Turkey, Switzerland and Wales. The Azzurri will play all of their group stage matches in Rome.
