Italy imposes stricter restrictions on non-vaccinated Covid-19 / Article

From January 10, unvaccinated people will not have access to hotels, meeting centers, local and long-distance public transport, festivals and ski lifts, authorities said in Rome.

The new rules, known in the media as the “unvaccinated archipelago”, will run until the end of the state of emergency on March 31.

The number of Covid-19 cases in Italy has risen sharply in recent days, with 98,000 new infections and almost 150 deaths in the last 24 hours.

The government has also decided to lift precautionary quarantine for people who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 or who have had close contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid-19.

However, this will only apply to vaccinees who have also received a maintenance dose, or if 120 days have not elapsed since receiving the second dose.

In any case, people should wear FFP2 masks for ten days after close contact.

Anyone who develops symptoms should have a PCR or antigen test.

A ten-day quarantine requirement is mandatory for non-vaccinated people who have been in contact with or infected with an infected person.
