Died Monday at the San Raffaele hospital in Milan, Silvio Berlusconi was entitled to a state funeral on Wednesday in the presence of a large audience of personalities including the Italian President, Sergio Mattarella, and the Italian Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni. President of the Italian Senate, Ignazio La Russa, President of the Chamber of Deputies, Lorenzo Fontana, President of the Italian Constitutional Court, Silvana Sciarra, President of the Lombardy region, Attilio Fontana, Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala , attended the final tribute paid to the former Italian Prime Minister. Hundreds of people also went to Villa San Martino in Arcore, his residence located not far from Milan where his coffin was exposed.

Silvio Berlusconi leaves the stage at 86 after a full life. “Il Cavaliere” (the knight) as the Italians affectionately called him was a multidimensional man. Entering business in the late 1960s, he invested in real estate, television and sports. The former President of the Italian Council of Ministers created the Fininvest company and the Mediaset communication group. For thirty years, he managed the emblematic Italian football club, AC Milan. Presented as being one of the biggest Italian fortunes, he was also a very controversial figure in public life in Italy because of his multiple escapades.
