The Italian government announced on Thursday that the state of emergency due to the coronavirus pandemic will be extended until the end of the year.
A government seeking to curb the new wave of coronavirus has also announced that people will need proof of immunity to access a range of services and leisure activities.
In this regard, the Italian authorities have revealed their plans for a green pass or so-called Covid passports, which will become mandatory for all citizens over the age of 12, starting on 6 August.
The green pass will be needed for indoor dining and all other indoor activities, such as visits to the cinema, theater and gym, as well as all major events that are organized in the country.
Health Minister Roberto Speranza told reporters that the document would be required in many situations, including entry to sports stadiums, gyms, museums and trade fairs.
This omission will apply to anyone with a negative test within 48 hours, to anyone who has recovered from a coronavirus within six months, or to anyone who has received at least one dose of a coronavirus vaccine.
Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi described the green pass not as “arbitration” but rather as a “condition for opening up economic activities”, urging everyone to get vaccinated. He also noted the threat from the Delta option, but was optimistic about Italy’s economic recovery, saying the economy was doing “very well”.
The “green pass” system will operate again in Israel, DPA reported.
This was decided today by the Israeli headquarters for the fight against coronavirus, taking into account the growing number of coronavirus infected in Israel.

To attend events with more than a hundred people from all Israelis aged 12 and over will require proof of a vaccine against covid, a covid disease, or a negative coronavirus test. The measure will be applied for sports and cultural events, as well as in gyms, restaurants, conference halls, places of prayer and more. It is expected to be approved by the government and take effect within a week.
The “green pass” was introduced in Israel in February, but after a significant reduction in new cases, most restrictions were lifted. Recently, the number of infected has begun to increase. The reason for this is thought to be the spread of the Delta variant of the coronavirus.
More than 56 percent of Israelis have received two doses of the covid vaccine.
