Below is the press release: “Following an investigation by a UEFA ethics and discipline inspector into the incidents that occurred during the final match of UEFA Euro 2020 between the national teams of Italy and England, played on 11 July 2021 at Wembley stadium in London, the Board of UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Discipline today took the following decision:

  1. Order the English Football Association to play the next two official UEFA matches as a host association behind closed doors, the second of which suspended for a probationary period of two years from the date of this decision, due to a lack of order and discipline in and around the stadium .
  2. Fine of 100,000 euros to the English Football Association for lack of order and discipline in and around the stadium, for invasion of the playing field, for throwing objects and for disturbing national anthems“.
