The blue full-back will not be available against Wales and Scotland
Unfortunately, the confirmation has arrived: Ange Capuozzo’s Six Nations 2023 ends here. The full-back from Toulouse and the Italian national team had suffered a scapula injury after the match between Italy and Ireland, and already the first exams arranged by his club hadn’t boded great hopes.
Italy had tried to recover him, summoning him to the training session to prepare for the match against Wales, but the latest medical bulletin has given the definitive confirmation that it will not be possible to have him available in the last two matches of the tournament, against the Welsh and then in home of Scotland.

“In the light of the persistence of pain symptoms in the left shoulder and with the aim of allowing the player to continue the rehabilitation process in complete tranquility and with the times necessary for a full functional recovery, the technical staff and the medical staff of Italy have agreed with the athlete not to proceed with his reintegration into the team group in view of the last two days of the Guinness Six Nations” reports the Italian Rugby Federation in a press release.
At this point, Crowley will have to redraw the enlarged triangle. The main options are those of Padovani, Allan and Bruno, as proposed on the eve.
Capuozzo will return to Toulouse to continue his preparation, always staying in touch with the national team staff. As already initially predicted by the French press, his club’s goal is to recover him for the Champions Cup round of 16.
