Italy and Argentina, winners of Euro 2020 and Copa America 2021 respectively, will face each other in London in June 2022 in a “Finalissima”! In a press release, UEFA announces that it has signed today with CONMEBOL:
“a renewed and extended memorandum of understanding until June 30, 2028, following on from the memorandum of understanding concluded in February 2020.
If the terms of the original agreement are maintained, this new MoU also contains specific provisions relating to the opening of a joint UEFA / CONMEBOL office in London and the potential organization of various football events.
The first of these events will see UEFA EURO 2020 winner Italy take on CONMEBOL 2021 Copa América winner Argentina in a ‘Finalissima’ at a London stadium on June 1, 2022.
The shared London office will officially open in early 2022. “
