Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli shares a tender duet with his 11-year-old daughter Virginia with the song Dare to bewhich accompanies the credits of the film Goatscentered on the figure of Sister Francesca Cabrini, first saint of the United States of America, canonized in 1946 by Pope Pius XII.
For several years now, tenor Andrea Bocelli has put his children, Matteo and Virginia, in the spotlight, sharing moving duets with them on stage and on record. In 2020, in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the Italian tenor gave a virtual Christmas concert, during which spectators were able to discover a 7-year-old girl with a velvet voice: Virginia, Andrea Bocelli’s youngest daughter. Together, they delivered a tender father-daughter duet on the title Hallelujah Leonard Cohen.
Since then, Virginia and Matteo, one of Bocelli’s sons, regularly join their father in videos posted on the Italian tenor’s YouTube channel. In 2022, the three of them also recorded an album of Christmas carols.
On February 23, on Andrea Bocelli’s YouTube channel, we were able to discover a new father-daughter duo, which also announces the cinema debut of young Virginia. In fact, the song Dare to be accompanies the end credits of Alejandro Monteverde’s new film, inspired by the life and story of Sister Francesca Cabrini, an immigrant missionary in the United States who fought to help Italian immigrants live decently, building an orphanage, then a hospital and gradually a true “empire of hope”. A dedication that will make her the first saint of the United States of America, canonized in 1946 by Pope Pius XII.
In addition to her participation in the film’s soundtrack, the young Virginia Bocelli also took her first steps as an actress in this film, playing a small role. The film’s cast also includes Mexican tenor Rolando Villazon.
