The Italian Super Cup will take place at the beginning of January in Saudi Arabia according to the four-club formula inaugurated last year, the Italian Football League announced on Tuesday. “The 37th edition of the Italian Super Cup will take place in Riyadh and will take place with four teams and a program which includes two semi-finals on January 2 and 3, 2025 and the final on January 6”indicated the Lega Serie A in its press release.
The 2024 edition will pit Inter Milan, outgoing Italian champion, Juventus Turin, crowned in the final of the Italian Cup, AC Milan, 2024 Italian vice-champion, and Atalanta Bergamo, finalist unhappy in the Coppa Italia.
A new stadium in Riyadh
The first semi-final will pit Inter, who have won the last three editions of the event, against Atalanta, the second Juventus Turin against AC Milan, said the Italian League. The matches will take place at the Kingdom Arena, a 30,000-seat stadium inaugurated last January. This is the fifth time after 2018, 2019, 2022 and 2023 that the Italian Super Cup will take place in Saudi Arabia.

The Italian Championship will not observe any break this winter during the end-of-year holidays. During the Super Cup weekend, the 19th day of Serie A is scheduled, without the four teams competing in Saudi Arabia.
