Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni is convinced that the countries that help Ukraine bring peace in Europe closer.
In this way, she responded to criticism of her decision to continue deliveries of weapons to Ukraine, reports Guardian.
“Those who say that Ukraine cannot be helped are acting against the sovereignty and freedom of the nation,” she said.
Meloni also expressed hope that her country will be able to announce in the coming days its readiness to supply Ukraine with the SAMP-T missile defense system, which Italy will supply together with France.
At the end of December, President Volodymyr Zelensky held talks with Meloni, following which he announced agreements on the transfer of air defense systems to Ukraine.
Already in January, it became known that Rome and Paris were completing preparations for sending SAMP-T complexes.
