The Italian Prime Minister, Giorga Meloni, has decided to sue Brian Molcho, the most prominent singer of the British band Placebo, after he insulted her during a concert in Italy.

Brian Molcho took part in the British band’s gig at a festival outside Turin, in northern Italy, last July. During the concert, the British-American singer cursed Meloni, in front of 5,000 spectators. The pioneers of the communication sites circulated a video in which Molcho shouts: “Georga Meloni, you are a fascist and a racist,” as he insulted her.

The Prime Minister of Italy did not stand idly by about what happened, so she decided to take legal action against the singer and filed a defamation case against him, but she did not comment on the matter publicly.
Indeed, the singer was investigated by the Italian police for “contempt for institutions” after local authorities reported what had happened, according to the Italian news agency.
The Italian Prime Minister, who belongs to the right-wing “Brothers of Italy” party, is known to never tolerate what appears to be abuse or accusations without evidence.
She filed a defamation suit against the editors of the local newspaper Domani, alleging that she had abused her power to win a government bid for the company of a member of her party.
It demanded compensation, and the Italian courts are expected to hear the case in July 2024.
