Music critics have recognized Francesca as one of the most exciting singers of the new generation, and within a few years she has also received recognition from famous colleagues. Tandoi has performed and worked in the studio with several great jazz musicians, including American saxophonist Scott Hamilton.
Franceska feels free in the classic trio format, and in Riga she plays with two other great European jazz musicians whom she met while studying in the Netherlands – the Brazilian bassist Mateus Nikolajevski, who lives in the Netherlands, and Dutch drummer Sanders Smēts.
In Tandoi’s music, both the roots of Italian music and the traditional jazz of the “American school” can be heard, but the stylistic influence of classical music, pop music and R&B can also be seen in her compositions. The love for swing and bebop is very evident.
Francesca herself does not hide that she has always loved this style of music, since childhood, because this was the first jazz sound she fell in love with. “When I’m sad, I just put on a swing album and it instantly makes me feel better,” Tandoi said. “Music is what makes me happy! And I want to convey those feelings to my audience as well.”
