Rome gets its shine back to present the third edition of the Italian Padel Awards, the Oscars of padel. The event, scheduled for Tuesday evening at the Sala delle Armi of the Foro Italico, will be preceded by a real festival, open to all enthusiasts. In fact, right in front of the Sala delle Armi, a playing field and a Smart Padel Trainer (a training system based on a ball launcher integrated into a field) have been set up, which will be the scene of a series of activities from 5pm to 6.30pm. Entry will be free and anyone will be able to try their hand at the discipline.
I “Legend” to Di Nenno, Lamperti and Marta Ortega
In the evening, internationally renowned champions will parade, together with some ambassadors from the world of football and entertainment. Prizes will be awarded in 8 categories: in the “Legend” the awards will go to the Argentinians Martin Di Nenno and Miguel Lamperti, respectively n. 6 and no. 54 in the world, and to the Spanish Marta Ortega, the youngest player in history to become n.1 in the international ranking who has a special relationship with Rome, having triumphed together with Gemma Triay in 2023 in the first historic women’s stage of the Italy Major Premier Padel .
Youth awards in Ustero, Sargolini and Dal Pozzo
In the “Rising Star” the 17 year old Catalan Andrea Ustero, current n. 18 in the world. in the “Italians” one, however, the recognition will be attributed to two of the most interesting prospects of our movement: the 17 year old Matteo Sargolini, n. 453, and to the 19 year old Giulia Dal Pozzo, n. 154. In the “Ambassador” category, awards will be given to Federica Masolin, sports journalist and undisputed face of Sky and the actress and television presenter Bianca Guaccero, who we will see in the coming weeks among the protagonists of the Raiuno Talent Show “Dancing with the Stars”.
Recognition to singers Cally and Bagnulo for “Isla Padel”
In the new categories, “Content” and “Innovation”, Junior Cally and Gianluigi Bagnulo will be awarded respectively for their ‘Isla Padel’, the first song dedicated to padel, which is already the hit of all the main padel events in Italy, and the Casali Sport company which, together with Ecopneus, has created a revolutionary, eco-sustainable surface for courts, less impactful on the joints and capable of offering a different speed of play compared to traditional carpets.
The ‘Padel Trend Expo’ also awarded
For the “Club” category the prize will be awarded to ‘The Padel Resort’, which with its style rewrites the concept of padel club. Finally, for the “Event” category, the recognition will be awarded to ‘Padel Trend Expo’, the first Italian fair dedicated to padel, capable of bringing 18 thousand people to the MiCo in Milan in the first edition and breaking the barrier of 20 thousand presences with 130 exhibitors in the second edition.
The event, open to all, will continue on Wednesday
The event will continue the day after the ceremony, Wednesday 25th, with clinics, free trials open to the public together with the masters of the Italian Tennis and Padel Federation and the Italian champions Alessandro Tinti and Emily Stellato.
