Suddenly the group was run over by the police car which, according to the local press, was engaged in an urgent service; the driver was still subjected to the alcohol test, which was negative. Four ambulances intervened on the spot and Decandia was immediately transferred to the university hospital of Son Espases, where he died following the very serious injuries sustained in the impact. The two friends who were with him were injured.
