Italian Navy Officer Caught Hand-in-Handed Selling Secret NATO Documents to Russia

The website of Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera reported that the letters seized at the Italian naval officer’s flat indicated that he may have given up NATO secrets, jeopardizing the national security of other countries.

Russian citizens, who are reportedly working at the Russian embassy in Italy, are expected to be expelled. Russian Ambassador Sergey Razov has also been summoned to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Rome.

The Russian embassy could not be reached for comment on this matter.
