Italian multi-instrumentalist Emiliano D’Auria performs in Riga

The Italian multi-instrumentalist Emiliano D’Auria, who is primarily a pianist with a wide jazz scope, will perform in the 1st studio of Latvian Radio on October 25 in the autumn concert series “Art of Riga Jazz”. A completely new concert program will be presented in Riga, and the main part of the album will be the Emiliano quintet “The Baggage Room” in the future.

The album “The Baggage Room”, which was recorded in “Bunker Studio” at Brooklyn in New York, will be released in November, and in addition to Emiliano D’Auria, several American musicians will play there – trumpeter Philip Dizak, saxophonist Dayna Stevens, double bassist Rick Rosato and drummer Kweku Sambry. In Riga, Emiliano plays with the main line of Italian musicians, including trumpeter Luca Aquino, saxophonist Manuel Trabuco, double bass Dario Miranda and drummer Ermano Baron.

In addition to the slightly experimental jazz compositions of the new album, one of the most colorful Italian jazzmen of the moment will also offer a small secret trip to the Norwegian islands, where the fifth and latest album of the quintet Emiliano D Aurias “First Rain” was recorded. As the composer himself says, the musicians he plays with have a unique quality – they are able to listen to each other, which allows you to feel very free in concerts and improvisations and creates a unique concert atmosphere every time.

The autumn concert series “Art of Riga Jazz” offered by the festival “Rigas Ritmi” will be held from October 25 to November 23 in the 1st Latvian Radio studio. The Polish-Canadian pianist Aleksandra Streliski, who is a master of film music and is considered a follower in the world of modern classical music, as well as the new European jazz star – an Italian pianist and singer Francesca Tandoi, also plays a part in it.
