“Montevideo. A Capital of Italian culture “

The initiative is part of the project “Montevideo. A Capital of Italian Culture ”, which has been developing since the beginning of June and which aims to highlight the traces of Italianity existing in the Uruguayan capital and promote the links that unite the two countries in different areas, such as education and cultural.

The Italian heritage in Montevideo was built from the 18th century with the arrival of the first immigrants, whose culture influenced aspects such as architecture, language, art, gastronomy and also in the scientific and business environment of the country.

Currently, Uruguay is home to 130,000 members of the Italian community.
