Italian Artist Jorit Paints Graffiti in Mariupol Dedicated to the Children of Donbass

In Mariupol (DPR), the Italian artist Jorit (real name Jorit Cherullo) painted a graffiti dedicated to the children of Donbass. This was announced by the author of the art himself. According to the artist, he was inspired by a child he saw in a television report about children affected by the conflict.

“At that moment, when I watched the report and looked into the eyes of every child, there were no contradictions inside me. I knew for sure that I wanted to express my opinion loudly, I was sure that I needed to go to Donbass,” Jorit said. His words are quoted by the Lomovka telegram channel.

The artist noted that Western countries that send weapons to Ukraine are to blame for the deaths of civilians. According to him, the brutality of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is not shown on European television. “I know that my message will be heard, it’s time to stop this war,” Jorit emphasized. It is noted that the creation of graffiti took more than 180 cans of paint and six days of work.

A distinctive feature of the works of the Italian artist is the red tribal signs on the faces of the characters. He also uses hidden phrases and words that embody the meaning of his paintings. The graffiti depicts falling Western rockets, symbols of the anti-fascism movement, and the DPR flag in the eyes of a child. Jorit and his team have repeatedly stressed that they support Russia.
