Ita Airways Inaugurates “Piazza Vincenzo Bellini” Lounge at Catania’s Fontanarossa Airport: Plans for Increased Flights and Initiatives to Lower Prices

The new “Piazza Vincenzo Bellini” lounge of Ita Airways was inaugurated at Catania’s Fontanarossa airport, the fourth in Italy and the third in an Italian city after Rome and Milan. It was an opportunity to reiterate the strategic centrality of the Etna airport, but also for the forecasts that Ita Airways has for the area: “There are currently 15 daily flights, of which eight with Rome Fiumicino and seven with Milan Linate. For next summer we are thinking of increasing the flights between 17 and 18 daily”, said Andrea Benassi, general director of Ita Airways. Who also had his say on the high prices: “We immediately joined the plan that the Region launched, we set up our system from 15 December to guarantee the application and web access to Sicilian residents, furthermore we launched a youth flight pass specific for Sicilian residents aged 12 to 25, thus trying to counteract the expensive flights.
