In the main streets around Āgenskalns – Kalnciema, Melnsila, Nometņu, Bāriņu and Daugavgrīvas streets, as well as on Aleksandra Grīna boulevard – in the future, motorists will have to move with a maximum driving speed of 30 km / h.

According to traffic safety specialists, such areas in the streets of Riga will be gradually introduced in the future as well, especially in the surrounding streets, where there are private houses and historically no sidewalks have been built.

Changes in the organization of transport have been made as part of European Mobility Week, which aims to encourage people to diversify in order to meet the challenges facing European Union citizens by reducing congestion and global warming emissions in cities, cycling and walking, and improving public health.
