The Mi MIX family has returned. The Mi MIX Fold brought back the series that for almost three years had no commercial exponent, but Apparently it is just one of the new Mi MIX smartphones that Xiaomi prepares for this year, since the Mi MIX 4 is also on the way.
The Twitter user, and well-known leaker, @UniverseIce has made a post in which he mentions that he has full confirmation that the Mi MIX 4 will use technology Under Panel Camera, that is, it will have an “invisible” front camera, of which we had a preview last year. In addition, it also mentions that it is very likely that it integrates curved screen and “other technologies”, without specifying which ones it refers to exactly.
This publication accompanies it with the render of a device that supposedly exemplifies the said rumors of the Mi MIX 4. However, it cannot be taken as a faithful representation of the smartphone, since details of it are not yet known, beyond those mentioned.
I am 100% affirmation, Mi Mix4 will use the UPC ( Under Panel Camera ) technology, and it is very likely to use curved screen design, and other new technologies will be used for this phone. pic.twitter.com/esxZPrw5F3

Without further details for now, we can only speculate a bit about what to expect on the Mi MIX 4. Being a member of Xiaomi’s experimental family, you can expect the same liquid lens technology for the camera than in the Mi MIX Fold, in addition to the power of the Snapdragon 88 and a QHD + screen at 120 Hz.
@UniverseIce does not mention anything about the possible presentation date of the Mi MIX 4, but if the rumors have started to appear it is very possible that it is this year. We are just in April and Xiaomi has already presented five new smartphones, so the possibility of a Mi MIX 4 before the end of 2021 is highly latent.
Finally, “invisible” front camera smartphones are not new. The ZTE Axon 20 5G was the first, and we even saw it arrive in Mexico a few months ago. Rumors say that Samsung is also preparing its first smartphone with this technology and will arrive later in the year.
In this way, it makes all the sense in the world if Xiaomi also presents its Mi MIX 4 with an under-screen camera to compete this year. We will see what surprises Xiami and the other manufacturers have in store for us in 2021.
