JAKARTA, KOMPAS.TV – The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has succeeded in uncovering the perpetrators of the crime who stole tens of billions of deposit money belonging to customers of a state-owned bank in Makassar.
The perpetrator is known to have the initials MBS. He is an employee of the state-owned bank.

The Director of Special Economic Crimes (Dirtpideksus) of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Brigadier General Helmy Santika said that currently the perpetrator had been named a suspect.
“The perpetrator has been named a suspect and has been detained. The suspect MBS is an employee,” Helmy said when contacted on Sunday (12/9/2021).
Helmy explained that the arrest and detention of MBS began with a report made by his own office.
The report was recorded under the number LP/B/0221/IV/2021/Bareskrim dated April 1, 2021 regarding alleged banking crimes and money laundering crimes.
Helmy said that the bank did not suffer any losses due to falsification of deposit slips by its employees.

However, the customer with the initials IMB suffered a loss of IDR 45 billion. There was also another customer with the initials H who suffered a loss of Rp. 16.5 billion.
