Jakarta –
It’s raining in the area Tangerang and surroundings this afternoon. As a result, a total of 10 points each in the Tangerang City and South Tangerang (Tangsel) areas were submerged flood.
Two flood points in Tangerang City occurred in the Bumi Mas Raya (BMR) complex and on Jl Gatot Subroto, precisely under flyover tip top. The highest water level reaches 50 cm.
“In BMR the height is 20 centimeters and under flyover The tiptop is about 50 centimeters,” said Tangerang City BPBD Emergency Head Hambali, when contacted, Monday (2/5/2022)
Hambali said that flooding at the two points occurred around 17:00 WIB. He said the water did not enter the residents’ houses.
“Yes (there are still floods), the weather is still drizzling at the scene,” he added.
Hambali admitted that his party was still collecting data. So far, no residents have been evacuated.
“At BMR, we will help suck when the water enters the mosque,” he said.
Contacted separately, South Tangerang BPBD Mitigation Section Head Essa Nugraha revealed that eight flood points in South Tangerang were spread over several sub-districts. The water level is said to vary, the highest is 80 cm.
Puri Pamulang 30 cm (cm), Pamulang Asri 40 cm, Babakan Pocis Bhakti Jaya 70-80 cm, Kampung Bulak 30 cm, Rooswood Garden 60-80 cm, Puri Bintaro Indah 50 cm, Villa Pamulang Mas 50 cm, and Housing BPI 30 cm,” he explained.
He stated that the main cause of flooding in his area was the heavy rain that hit today. So far, 20 families have taken refuge in a nearby mosque.
“Affected by Roswood Garden houses or 77 families, some residents returned to their villages, and around 20 families took refuge in a nearby mosque,” he said.
According to him, of the eight flood points in South Tangerang, two of them were due to a broken embankment. Embankment breaches occurred in Puri Pamulang and Pamulang Asri.
“The deepest water level near the levee burst is 80 cm with heavy currents with heavy water conditions, it is likely that the water level will increase. Roswood is flooded because of the impact of the levee breaking in Pamulang Asri,” he explained.
