It was not an inter-government, it was a political victory

Of the Patriarch

Yesterday, almost half of the Greek government was in Nicosia, in the context of the 2nd Intergovernmental Summit – Cyprus – Greece.

The Greek delegation was led by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the Cypriot one by President Christodoulidis, which directly demonstrated the cooperation of the countries at the highest political level.

Fortunately, this time we did not just listen to the famous tape of total identity with the national goals and especially with the Cypriot one and the rest of the famous national patriotism that no longer proves. They are not sure because they are tired, but also because I think we are now more aware of how politics works and how two governments, with a common national root, can have different goals to have in individual cases.

I believe that the electronic interface is important for the digitization of documents, which will be recognized in Cyprus and Greece. The citizen will now have the opportunity to have his identity card, driver’s license and vehicle suitability certificate on his mobile phone and use them in both countries.

Also important is the agreement for pharmaceutical prescriptions to end the phenomenon of cheap medicines in Greece being sold at high prices in Cyprus.

Despite the problems, the electrical interconnection is also extremely important, and it has been said that it is possible to manage the geopolitical risk.

Where do I want to end up?

All this didn’t happen overnight, and it didn’t happen alone without a job or interest.

It is the result of political decisions and their implementation.

So those of you who complain every day and have turned into Maniac obituaries (called maniac obituaries), after you decide that politicians are all worthless, that they are all thieves, that they are frauds, nobody cares about the citizens, etc. good to think again.

Note that Cyprus has the same currency as other Europeans, that Cypriots have the same rights to settle, work, social benefits, etc. as the rest of the citizens of EU member countries, and that we are not far from Greece anymore.

These – and more – were not done by any magic wand. So if we want to despise politics, let’s despise it for the right reasons and to the extent that such a thing is justified. Flattening will only set us back, but the situation will not be reversed.
