Corretja praises Roger Federer
Alex Corretja recently offered his thoughts on the GOAT debate, claiming that Roger Federer shouldn’t be left out of the discussion simply because of his poor head-to-head record against Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal.
“When people say that Roger Federer has lost to Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal more often and that’s why he can’t be the best in history, that’s absurd to me,” said Corretja. “Because of her [kontrastierenden] Obviously, depending on the style of play, Nadal will do him a lot of damage.”
Interestingly, Alex Corretja has a positive head-to-head record against both Roger Federer (3-2) and Rafael Nadal (2-0). “It’s normal that I [Roger Federer] on many occasions. And what does that mean? Nothing.
[Alles bedeutet]that my game on his day didn’t go well with his style because he was very young and he failed a lot with his backhand,” said Corretja. “On clay it was enough for me to send him a lot of high balls there.
I have [Rafael] Nadal also caught very, very young. He had no experience and I had. But none of that matters.”
