Krollis did not hide his joy that he managed to score after a long break. The Latvian footballer failed to win a place in the Italian club “Spezia”, ​​which has now loaned him to the Czech team “Vyškov”.

“It’s been a while – a year with pennies. Of course, it’s nice. The longer a striker doesn’t score, the harder it is to score the first ones after a long break. It was important to me. I hope it continues.”

Krollis noted that the players of the Latvian national team are not satisfied with the result in the game against Liechtenstein, but he called on the fans to be patient, as the team will certainly start playing better with time under the leadership of the new head coach Paolo Nicolato.

“Of course, we are not satisfied. The coach told us to be calm, that the main games will be after that. I think that with the vision we have, the result will come – it will be more beautiful and enjoyable for both the audience and ourselves. Patience!”

Last week, in the March training camp, the Latvian national team drew 1:1 against the host Cyprus in Nikolato’s debut.

Cyprus ranks 125th in the FIFA ranking, Latvia ranks 136th, and Liechtenstein ranks 203rd in the competition of 210 nations.

The next match for the Latvian national team is scheduled for June 8 in the Baltic Cup against Lithuania.
