I was on a flight from Italy to New York when I sat next to Catherine, who was on her way to visit her sister before starting a new job in America. We clicked immediately and have been inseparable ever since. Our lives have changed drastically since that fateful day as Catherine decided to stay with me and even gave up her career aspirations in America.
Host: That’s quite a story. Catherine, how did you decide to give up your career for Riccardo?
Catherine Boutet: It was not a difficult decision for me. When I met Riccardo, I knew that he was someone special, and I was happy to support him in whatever way I could. We have enjoyed working together and building our lives together ever since.
Host: It’s clear that you are both very passionate about your work. Could you tell us more about how your careers have intertwined over the years?
Riccardo Cocciante: Cathy has been an integral part of my career from the beginning. She was the one who convinced me to pursue music full-time and helped me sign my first recording contract. She is the vestal of my poetics.
