Al-Marsad Newspaper: Meteorologist Dr. Khaled bin Saleh Al-Zaaq revealed; On the details of the demolition of 3,000 homes in 1956, which is why it was called the “demolition” year.
Al-Zaaq explained in a video he shared on his Twitter page that this year, 1956, he witnessed heavy rains in Najd, Riyadh, Al-Washm, Al-Artawiyah, Sudair, Al-Ghat, Al-Majma’ ah, Al -Zulfi and the entire Al-Qassim region, and it lasted 58 consecutive days without a break.
He pointed out that the rain concentrated on “Buraidah, Al-Zalfi”, so three thousand houses were destroyed in Buraidah, and for this reason they called it the year of destruction, and the houses in the depressions were drowned in Al -Zalfi, and they called it the year of the drowning.
Al-Zaaq reported that, for the first time, the largest valleys in Najd, Wadi al-Rama and Wadi Hanifa, were held simultaneously.
