Turin –
It turns out Juventus not really getting Paul Pogba for free. There is a small cost to be incurred, and into the pockets of the French midfielder.
The fee is listed in a document released on the official Juventus website following the announcement of Pogba’s return to Turin. The amount is €2.5 million, is referred to as an ‘surcharge’ and must be repaid by 31 August 2022.
Pogba has arrived in Turin since last Friday (8/7) and was immediately greeted by tifosi upon arrival in Vinovo. Photos of him undergoing medical tests have also been shared with the public before being inaugurated by Juventus on Monday (11/7) yesterday.

He is contracted for four seasons until June 30, 2026 and will be given the number 10 jersey left by Paulo Dybala who was released this summer. The two of them had a vacation together in Miami, but will not be reunited at Juventus.
Pogba will reportedly receive a net salary of 8 million euros, excluding bonuses. The Sun reported that the 29-year-old’s fee was down 55 per cent from what he received when he was at Manchester United.
But Pogba is no longer believed to be after money. He wants to make up for his ‘wasted’ time at Old Trafford by trying to get back to his best, and Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus felt the right place.
“I want to rediscover my joy of playing football. I’ve spoken to Allegri, Dybala, Cuadrado, Agnelli and Nedved so I’m always in touch with everyone at Juve,” Pogba said.
“My heart decided for me and I believe I made the right choice. This jersey is everything to me, Juventus gave me the opportunity to be Pogba.”
“Now I want to give back that joy, bring a lot of trophies to a club that only deserves to win.”
