– It touches me a little – VG

(Sandviken – Rosenborg 2-0) With its second victory over Rosenborg in one month, it is Sandviken’s advantage in the battle for the gold. Now they have a gap of four points to Trøndelag.

Published:

– We deservedly win 2-0. Now we have beaten Rosenborg twice in a short time. It touches me a little, says Sandviken coach Alexander Straus after Sandviken’s sixth victory in a row.

The home team took the lead when Ingrid Ryland scored after only six minutes. It was the Sandviken player’s third goal of the season. The teams went into the locker room at the position 1-0 at the break. After 67 minutes of play, Kennya Cordner scored for the hosts and set the final score at 2-0 for the league leader.

She plunged the ball into the net on the return after Ryland had hit the crossbar. Sandviken also won 2-0 away against RBK on July 17.

– We seem a bit “dead” today. We are not able to get up to the usual level, says RBK coach Steinar Lein to NRK after the match.

Sandviken now has a gap of four points down to Trøndelag. However, coach Straus will not say too much about the gold match. When asked by NRK if they bring the gold home to Bergen, he answers:

– I refuse to answer that. But I think we need to be involved.

Ryland, who scored the 1-0 goal, follows up with an equally diplomatic response.

– The next obstacle is the next match. That is where the focus is, says goal scorer Ingrid Ryland to NRK.

VIF trouble

Earlier Saturday, Vålerenga showed again that they are not close to last year’s gold form. With 1-1 away against Avaldsnes, the reigning double champions have given points in four of their last five league games.

The lack of form has sent the Oslo club out of the gold match, and now VIF is also down to fourth place.

Avaldsnes took the deserved lead when captain Elizabeth Decker nodded in 1-0 on a corner after eleven minutes. The home team controlled the game, but Vålerenga equalized by Katie Stengel in the 32nd minute. She widened in the equalizer on the guests’ first finish.

There were no more goals. VIF goalkeeper Jalen Tompkins contributed greatly to the away team getting one point to the capital. Avaldsnes has picked up eleven points in as many games this year.

LSK victory

The scores of Emilie Haavi and Thea Kyvåg paved the way for LSK Women’s 2-0 victory at home against Klepp. The first came when the hosts’ captain put in a post after a scant quarter, while Kyvåg thumped the ball into the corner in the 28th minute.

LSK totally dominated the settlement, and the Roman kings could quickly win with bigger numbers. Camilia Linberg had, among other things, a shot in the crossbar early in the second half.

With the victory, the yellow and black-clad took up 25 points and are number three in the table. Vålerenga is two points behind the rival.

In today’s first match, Lyn lost a welcome victory at the back. Laura Gashi gave the hosts an early lead, but Tora Ose equalized to make it 1-1 for Arna-Bjørnar from the penalty spot in the 89th minute.

Lyn has played five straight league games without winning. Recently, the Oslo team was eliminated from the cup after a foul loss against 2nd division opposition. With its eight points, the club remains in 8th place. Arna-Bjørnar is two notches higher on the table with three points more.
