A six-storey building, which is showing worrying signs of weakness, is being evacuated this Wednesday morning at 22 avenue Pauliani in the center of Nice.
It was occupied by about thirty occupants, all squatters according to the trustee.
Already a decree of danger
No injuries are reported. The operation is carried out under the supervision of the fire brigade and the police.
The building is already the subject of a danger decree issued by the town hall. A visit from the technical services on Wednesday morning prompted the authorities to evacuate the latter. Disturbing cracks have appeared and the stairwell threatens to collapse.
Moreover, the building is built on gypsum which further weakens its foundations. Added to this is a lack of maintenance. The owners have huge backlogs, according to the trustee.
