Tara Davis (22) and Hunter Woodhall (22) celebrated the Tokyo participation in a real cowboy way. But during the summer games, the “athletics powercouple” is kept separate.

– I wish it was a lie. There are such strict rules. They are so intense. Now you have to leave the country 48 hours after your practice … We understand, but it sucks, says Hunter Woodhall, medalist in the 100 meters and 400 meters in this summer’s Paralympic Games, to NBC.
“Obviously we go for gold, but a medal is about as big as any sporting achievement,” says Woodhall.
He was born with a rare disease that caused his feet not to develop. Before he turned one, they were amputated below the knees. But that did not stop him from learning to run. As a 17-year-old, he went home with silver in the 200 meters and 400 meters from the Paralympic Games in Rio.
The following year, he met shooting star Tara Davis at an athletics meet.

After securing a place in the PL, he threw himself on the plane from Minneapolis to Eugene to see her qualify for the Olympics. She secured a Tokyo ticket with a jump of 7.04 meters in the length competition.
– To have him here was absolutely incredible. Hugging him and my family afterwards was very, very special, she said after the Olympic place was secured.
Now she is considered a medal candidate – but the the squeeze she can look far behind in the Olympics.
Tara Davis’ last practice will probably be the length final on August 3, while Woodhall will be in action a few weeks after she has left the Olympic city of Tokyo.
The duo is referred to as “athletics’ power couple” in the American media, and is at least as popular off the field. In total, they have almost three million followers on TikTok.
As soon as the summer’s big goal is over, the star couple moves under the same roof. Davis takes the dog Milo and the cat Azula with him.
