In an excerpt from the show Seven to eight unveiled on Audrey Crespo-Mara’s Instagram account, Thierry Beccaro returned to his childhood and his father’s punches. A moving testimony a few days before the release of his new book.
“Every now and then I say to myself: ‘But you’re not fed up with being afraid!'”, confided Thierry Beccaro about his traumatic past. A few hours before the broadcast of Portrait of the week, an interview conducted by journalist Audrey Crespo-Mara for the dissemination of Seven to eight this Sunday, October 31, the forties released a short extract of the TV host’s confidences on his Instagram account. In this short excerpt posted on the social network, Thierry Beccaro returned to his past as a battered child : “It shatters your body, it shatters your head. It shatters your life”, revealed, with difficulty, the former host of France 2.
“The adult that I am said to myself … My God, how sad it is. How unfortunate to see that. It is the kind of disproportion that there can be between the body of a child and the strength of a man “, admitted Thierry Beccaro. “We can’t do that! It hurts!”, he remembered with teary eyes. A few seconds later, the actor tore the silence by launching: “It makes you adults who are broken.” The sixty-year-old notably recounted this memory: his father’s fist had remained imprinted in a wall: “So there, I prefer that it is the wall which retained the memory of this fist. (…) It was a concrete wall…”, he explained, staring into space.
A step towards resilience
This television interview is another opportunity for Thierry Beccaro to show resilience. A journey he had already started through writing two books. The first, published on February 15, 2018, I was born at 17, allowed him to be supported by his fans who discovered, for the first time, the details of his violent childhood. On November 4, his new book, My own resilience, will be available in bookstores in France. Thierry Beccaro, after the success of his first testimony, decided to engage in his fight for healing. Despite his efforts, the events of his past will no doubt remain immutable in his memories.
