Cancer is a disease that causes abnormal cells to divide in an uncontrollable way. This can lead to a growth called a tumor – but not in all cases.
Almost any part of the body can be affected by cancer, which means symptoms can manifest in a number of ways, according to the British newspaper Express.
The earlier symptoms are caught the sooner you can seek treatment. While some signs of cancer can be very specific, others can easily be mistaken for other diseases.
And according to University of California San Francisco (UCSF) Health, there are four symptoms of cancer that can be attributed to another health problem.
But if it becomes chronic, persists for more than two weeks, or persists, it should be taken seriously.
Chronic coughing, chronic headaches, persistent pain, and persistent fatigue are on the list of cancer symptoms you “must not ignore” warn.
Cough
A cough that lasts more than two weeks, especially a dry cough, could be a sign of lung cancer.
Headache
A headache that lasts more than two weeks and does not respond to usual medications could be caused by a brain tumor.
the pain
Persistent pain anywhere in your body that has no apparent cause and is not responding to treatments should be evaluated.
Tired
A sudden and permanent change in your energy level, no matter how much sleep you get, could be a sign of leukemia or lymphoma.
Early detection is one of the best weapons against disease, and tests can detect cancer before symptoms appear.
You can also recognize early warning signs by paying close attention to changes in your body.
If you notice something new or different that lasts for several weeks — and several weeks in the first place — contact your doctor.
Not all symptoms can be caused by cancer.
Other possible signs of cancer:
Abnormal menstrual cycles or pelvic pain
Changes in bathroom habits
bloating
breast changes
Difficulty swallowing
excessive bruising
Frequent fever or infections
Oral changes
Postmenopausal bleeding
stomach pain or nausea;
Unexplained weight loss
unusual blocks.
She also warned of changes in the skin, which may be a cause for concern.
A change in the appearance of a mole or birthmark should be checked by a doctor if the following appear:
Asymmetry – not like one half of the mole or other mark
Borders – the edges are irregular or blurred
Color – variegated or mismatched, black and brown
Diameter – larger than the size of a pencil eraser
Evolution – This refers to any mole that grows, bleeds, or changes over time.
If you have concerns about any of these symptoms, you should see your doctor.
