It is not known how many people die because the state does not pay for the necessary medicines. The country has a cancer registry, but it doesn’t actually work. The only known fact is that 5,892 cancer patients died last year. Only 85 people dared to ask “ziedot.lv” for help. They donated nearly one million euros. Of these 85 people, 63 live.
Most likely, Ineta Arnolde and Normunds Saule will also be residents, if “ziedot.lv” raises the necessary money for medicines. “Delphi” already written about them. Both need large sums: Ineta 117,000 euros and Normund – 56,885 euros. Ineta di Valmiera needs the medicine “Darzalex” for the treatment of amyloidosis (precipitation of insoluble proteins), which since July this year has been included in the list of state-sponsored medicines. However, it has not managed to go through the corridors of bureaucracy to fall within the 60 million euros that the Ministry of Health (MoH) asks the government in the budget for its medicines. Normund of Liepāja needs “Keytruda”. They are on the list of paid drugs, but not for the Norman type of cancer that has set up in the throat. The diagnosis was not even queued for the eventual payment of state medicines.
In general, the Ministry of Health requires 98 million for oncology, of which 60 for drugs, and the rest for cancer prevention, diagnostics, timeliness of care, availability of specialists, rehabilitation, palliative care. . Why aren’t Normund and Ineta so lucky? Why doesn’t the country need it?
