This couple from Montigny-en-Ostrevent, a few dozen kilometers from Belgium, had a very bad surprise…

This Friday, Pamela found a nail-sized food worm in Gallia infant milk which she wanted to give to her seven-month-old daughter. To our colleagues from Voices from the North, she expresses her disgust: “He was moving in the spoon, I immediately crushed him in a paper towel,” she says. “The problem is that she drank it for three days before I found out. “
Panicked, Pemala contacted the Intermarché store in Montigny-en-Ostrevent where she bought the box: “I simply called them so that they could react, but they are not responsible”. The reactive staff immediately recalled the Gallia brand boxes corresponding to the number of the same batch, then sent the message to the parent company.
The young mother then contacted Gallia herself: “They wanted to reassure me by telling me that it was probably a food worm and that it was not dangerous for my daughter, but that I still had to remain vigilant about her health. They asked me to return the box with the worm to them for analysis in the laboratory, then they offered me three new boxes for compensation. “
Today, Pamela Mathon and her husband do not wish to file a complaint against Gallia, but still want to alert opinion and consumers. Because, as our colleagues from the VDN, this is not an isolated case; nine families claim to have found worms or larvae inside Gallia infant milk cans last March.
