With just a few months to go before the launch of Final Fantasy XVI, Square Enix revealed that the game will have a generous duration for those looking for all its secrets. In an interview with Famitsu magazine, producer Naoki Yoshida revealed that this process can take 70 to 80 hours to completedepending on the skill of each player.
According to Yoshida, initially his team aimed to offer an experience lasting approximately 20 hours. “But more and more was simply added”, continued the producer. Square Enix’s intention was to create an experience that told a story from beginning to end, without making players tired by excess.
“That’s why we want Final Fantasy XVI to feel like a rollercoaster experience where just when you think you’ve seen the road ahead, you’re taken in another direction.”, explained Yoshida. According to him, it will take at least 35 hours for players to understand the main story and complete the RPG if they stick to their central path.
New Game+ promises to be “insanely difficult”
During the interview with Famitsu, the producer also explained that the additional game time will be used to unlock accessories, complete side tasks, kill monsters and level up your characters. “Not only that, but we’ve also included an insanely difficult New Game + mode that lets you load your stats”.
The new option will be known as “Final Fantasy Mode” and promises to bring some secrets missing from the initial adventure. Yoshida also mentioned that the game should bring online scoreboards for some of its activities, which should serve as a stimulus for those who like to compete with other people.
Final Fantasy XVI promises an experience capable of pleasing franchise veterans and attracting a new audience that didn’t know it at its height of popularity. Exclusive to the PlayStation 5, The game is scheduled for release on June 22 of this year and, although it should come to the PC in the future, it should still take a long time to happen.
