The US government announced to Congress the intention to sell 35 UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters and related equipment to Greece.
According to the relevant announcement of the State Department, the estimated cost of the sale reaches 1.95 billion dollars and “will support the foreign policy and national security objectives of the United States, helping to improve the security of a NATO ally that is an important political partner stability and economic progress in Europe.
The proposed sale will replace Greece’s current fleet of multi-role helicopters with a more reliable system that will allow Greece to maintain an appropriate level of readiness to conduct combined operations.
The proposed sale of this equipment and its associated support will not change the basic military balance in the region.”
