It is unlikely that Harry and Meghan will meet the Queen during their visit to Britain due to security concerns

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will return to the UK on 5 September for two charity events before heading to Germany to open next year’s Invictus Games.

It was previously thought that the couple would use the opportunity to see family, especially Harry’s 96-year-old grandmother, who is struggling with health and mobility issues.

A Sussex insider told the Telegraph that the couple could skip a visit to the Queen at Balmoral, as they are not yet sure what security will be in place for them.

Harry is currently embroiled in a legal battle with the Interior Ministry over whether he and his family should be entitled to protection from the Metropolitan Police.

The Home Office has limited official security for Harry while traveling from North America to his homeland, saying the couple should rely on private security under the current circumstances.

But the prince is concerned that a private security firm will not be granted the same access to UK information as Metropolitan Security Authority officers have.

He has already experienced that he no longer feels safe in his homeland.

Harry and Meghan have not yet been informed of the security measures during their September visit, or one will be provided to the couple.

The last time the Duke and Duchess of Sussex came to the UK for the Queen’s Reign Platinum Jubilee, they attended only one official event where they were guaranteed the same level of safety as the rest of the royal family .

They made an exception when they visited the Queen at Windsor Castle, where they introduced Her Majesty to her daughter Lilibet, whom the Queen had never met in person.

In addition to the Invictus Games ceremony in Dusseldorf, it has been confirmed that the couple will attend a youth summit in Manchester and the WellChild awards ceremony for seriously ill children and their families.

This in turn means that next Wednesdays and Thursdays will be free for the Sussexes, but it is unclear what they will do in those days.

Royal House experts have previously speculated that they don’t think Harry and Meghan will have anything planned alongside Prince William and his wife, Duchess Catherine.
