It is today… Political smugglers – Jornal OPaís

When last August, in Saire, the governor of this province, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, urgently asked the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, for ‘more attention and support’ for the back – fuel smuggling in this area, there was not even the slightest idea. of the extent that the situation had taken.

Almost every day, through the media, we read, heard and saw people arrested for countless amounts of diesel, gasoline and oil at checkpoints that were installed in many areas of the country. However, we had no idea about the big web and the main characters of the plot.

For many, the revolution of Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, tired of seeing the citizens of the province always without fuel, but dozens or hundreds of trucks running the roads of Zaire, fell on deaf ears.

After all, several accusations have been made in the country, but to investigate them and then those involved were responsible, they almost never happen, no matter what people say otherwise.

Regarding fuel, a week after the governor’s accusations, the Minister of State and Head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, General Francisco Pereira Furtado, visited the province, he studied the information and said, as it might sound, more firewoodwith National Police itself.

Without more information, Furtado’s statements alone have been a real whirlwind, and it is expected that, in the near future, we will see more media processes, able to involve society and with great influence on the political and social life of Angolans.

The statement by the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, during the speech on the State of the Nation, reinforces this certainty that the next few days may even be difficult for some of those involved in the these schemes, which they avoid, using advanced call orders, the methods of investigation established by the State itself.

On the 15th, in the National Assembly, the President of the Republic, who once again defended the fight against fuel smuggling, said that certain politicians and parliamentarians are some of the those involved.

In other words, some of the promoters and beneficiaries of this practice that has cost the country millions of dollars belong in that room and could be listening to the speech itself ‘in loco’ .

Personally, perhaps like many Angolans, I hope that this suspense will be shortened as soon as possible. If you already know their names, where they work and their involvement, it is time to bring these citizens to justice, especially when it is known that they themselves should to be an example to others in protecting the interests of the Country.

It seems that after the speech of the President of the Republic and the following day, not many were able to sleep anymore. But, as is often said, crime never pays, and that is why they must be held accountable, regardless of the political formation or establishment they belong to.
