Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, bilateral relations and regional issues, in a phone call that brought them together on Saturday, according to a statement issued by the Turkish Presidency Communications Department.
The statement indicated that the two leaders discussed steps to develop bilateral relations and developments related to the Russian-Ukrainian war. Erdogan indicated the possibility of taking new steps on the basis of the agreement to enhance economic cooperation concluded between the two countries in Sochi during 2022.
Erdogan thanked Putin for his positive stance on extending the grain shipment agreement across the Black Sea, pointing out that his country attaches importance to ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine through negotiations as soon as possible.
