According to reports from Taiwan media, the four iPhone 15 models that Apple will release this year will use the same OLED screen panels as the iPhone 14 series, but the battery life of the entire series will be improved because Apple will switch to a Brand new, OLED display driver chip with better power efficiency, reducing power consumption of the screen.
Chip upgrade and energy saving
Taiwan’s “Economic Daily” quoted supply chain sources as saying that the four iPhone 15-approved OLED driver chips will be updated from the previous generation’s 40nm HV to 28nm HV. It will also be improved, so the battery life of the iPhone 15 will be longer than that of the previous generation iPhone 14.
It is said that the whole line has a dynamic island
The report also mentioned that Apple’s OLED driver chip suppliers are LX Semicon and Samsung System LSI respectively, but it did not say whether the above-mentioned new chips are still provided by these two companies. Speaking of the screen of the iPhone 15, there were earlier rumors that all models launched this year will have a dynamic island function, no longer exclusive to the Pro and Pro Max models as last year.
