Most recently, there is an image from the microblogging site Weibo showing four panels of the phone, allegedly belonging to four models iPhone 14 Series, that is iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pros, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
This photo itself was shared by a technology website that usually discusses rumors from Apple devices, 9to5Mac and gadget leakers on Twitter with the handle @SaranByte.
If you look at the leaked images shared by Saran as above, you can see that the “Mini” iPhone model seems to have been removed by Apple, and replaced with a new model called iPhone 14 Max.
Just like the previous rumors, in appearance, design iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max looks identical to iPhone 13 Series because it has a notch or “bangs” typical of the iPhone which is quite wide.
Meanwhile, it exists iPhone 14 Pros and iPhone 14 The Pro Max looks fresher because it is decorated with a module that resembles a capsule, as well as a hole, aka a punch hole, which is usually used for selfie cameras.
Still a matter of appearance, the leaker named Saran also mentioned that the bezels on the “Pro” model will be slightly thinner than the previous generation.
“The screen aspect ratio will also be slightly different and higher for the Pro model, which is 20:9 instead of 19.5:9,” said a Twitter account with handle @SaranByte, as quoted by KompasTekno, Saturday (4/30/2022).
It is not yet certain whether these four panels are intended for iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pros, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.
Moreover, the successor name iPhone 13 Series is also not necessarily iPhone 14 Series.
But if it’s accurate, then this is the first time Apple will switch from a wide notch to a punch hole or pill-shaped module, as a solution to increase the user-operable screen area.
In addition, if the information above is true, then this is also the first time Apple has presented iPhone 14 Max, as well as removing iPhone models Mini since it first appeared on the iPhone 12 Series.
