4 countries in Europe are ahead of us in terms of car prices, 3 – in terms of telecommunications costs
A new Eurostat survey refutes the myth that Bulgaria is the cheapest country in the European Union and one of the cheapest in Europe. There are two countries in the EU – Romania and Poland, where food and soft drinks, for example, are cheaper than in our country, and
the average salary there is higher from this c Bulgaria,
reveals a study published on Thursday.
Food in Bulgaria costs 22.6% less than the average in Europe, but in Poland it is 29.3% lower, and in Romania even 31.8%, the data show.
At the other pole are Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, Luxembourg and Denmark. In Switzerland, for example
the food is worth it with 68.7% more expensive
than the European average.
In Romania, the average salary as of May 2022 is BGN 2,410, and in Poland – BGN 2,217. In Bulgaria, according to the latest data, the average salary is BGN 1,593.
The situation in our country is even worse with the prices of telephone and postal services and the Internet, as the two countries where they are cheaper are the same – Poland and Romania (see infographic).
Except in Poland and Romania cheaper, than in Bulgaria, are and goods for the free weather in Hungary
These include books, magazines, travel packages, pet supplies, and tickets to cultural and sporting events. In Hungary, the average salary is currently lower than in Poland and Romania. It is BGN 1,951, which is again more than in Bulgaria.
Cars and their costs – fuels, oils and repairs – are cheaper than in Bulgaria in four countries: Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Cyprus.
