Vatican City: Pope Francis said it is not enough to be grateful for God’s blessings and keep away from evil, but to do the good that is possible. The Pope’s appeal was launched during a customary meeting with members of the Vatican Curia ahead of Christmas. The Pope’s homily was about the importance of being constantly vigilant in life and it was clear.
“We must not be satisfied with living away from evil, but strive to do as much good as possible. “We must not only condemn evil, but allow for the conversion of hearts”, exhorted the Pope. The Pope added that we must always be vigilant and avoid thinking you are safe from evil.
The main danger that those who live for the service of God can encounter is the thought of not knowing even more about the Gospel. That is why this vigilance is all the more necessary. The Pope reminded us that continual change like this is necessary because temptations we think we have overcome can come back in other ways.
Wanting an end to war trumpets, the Pope has called for an end not only to missile wars, but also to wars of words, abuse of power and accusations. ‘Let the weapons of violence be laid down before the Prince of Peace who comes into the world. “One must also be careful not to use one’s position to defame the other,” the Pope added.
