Two diversions on top of the May 1 holiday
On May 1, two acts of sabotage were carried out in the “old” territories of Russia. A locomotive and seven carriages of a freight train derailed on a railway line in the Bryansk region after an “unidentified explosive device” was detonated on the tracks, the governor of the Russian region, Alexander Bogomaz, said. The railway connection with the Belarusian city of Gomel has been interrupted. The burnt locomotive belongs to the Belarusian Railways and thus the relevant signal was sent to Belarus as well.
The second sabotage was carried out in the Gatchina region of the Leningrad Region. Saboteurs blew up a power line (LE) in one of the rural settlements. Experts also found a second explosive device with a fuse near the exploded pillar, it was defused, said the governor of the region, Alexander Drozdenko.
Sabotage and sabotage of infrastructure only make sense when part of a common plan of action. Let’s recall the 1943 railway war in Belarus, known as part of the Red Army offensive operation Bagration. Then the disorganization of the work of the railway by the partisans was massive and worked to break through the German positions.
